SPANISH IMMERSION STUDENTS |
Each week there is a new and exciting combination of students at the College.
One week there may be a group of Chinese engineers enrolled and the next week a group of Canadian missionaries. It is possible a student could find themselves in class with a Midwestern college professor, a Japanese manufacturing engineer, a student traveler from France and a California surf dude. People from all walks of life come to Ensenada to participate in the Spanish immersion programs. Students as old as 86 have enrolled as have children as young as 6 years old.
The majority of the Spanish immersion students are American professionals. Human resources personnel, attorneys and those working in the health care field can be accommodated with programs geared to their professional needs. Business executives with the immediate need to speak Spanish typically enroll in the Executive Immersion Program.
Teachers who want to develop a greater command of the Spanish language enroll as do students needing college credit to transfer to their respective institutions.
Teens, children and families as well as school and church groups also make up part of the diverse student body.
Functional proficiency in Spanish in today’s workplace is a distinct advantage.
