Fully transferable US college credit through Arizona Western CollegeThe Small Group Immersion Program is the most popular program because of its dynamics and economics. The main objective of the Small Group Immersion Program is to develop verbal communication and critical listening skills.
A variety of hands-on and highly interactive methods are used to cultivate motivation, self-confidence and enjoyment. Success is measured by the student’s ability to complete the communication loop in Spanish.
Class instruction is limited to a maximum of five students. The small group size assures individual participation and allows for personal attention from the instructor.
There are twelve different levels of coursework accommodating everyone from an absolute beginner to a Spanish teacher needing a refresher course. Students are evaluated by both written exercises and by oral interview. Students are placed in groups based more by their ability to communicate than by the results of the written exercises.
Classes meet Monday through Friday throughout the year from 8:30AM until 2:30 PM.
The first four hours of each day is the core curriculum period. This period consists mainly of exercises and drills focusing on aural comprehension and oral expression. In the afternoon, students change instructors for a two-hour activity period. Dictionaries, verb books and note books are put to the side. Students engage in role playing, songs, board games, presentations and numerous other activities that promote using Spanish to communicate. Special topics and activities are organized around the needs, interests and proficiency levels of the group.
Each Thursday, in lieu of the afternoon activity, an off-campus excursion to a point of interest in Ensenada is coordinated. The excursion is optional. There may be nominal admission fees to enter some museums and for some tours.
Students in the Small Group Immersion Program can study for as short a time as a single week or take courses for 5 and 10 weeks at discount rates. The Baja California Language College is flexible in accommodating your busy schedule.

"I recommend your program highly to anyone who wishes to either learn, or improve their Spanish. I learned more Spanish in one week thank I learned in 5 years of vacations to Mexico. A terrific program!"
