Summer Spanish Immersion Programs:
Open Enrollment Begins Today

Ensenada, BC, Mexico – May 15, 2006 – For the ninth consecutive year the Baja California Language College announces open enrollment for all summer immersion classes. The summer session begins Monday, June 5 and will conclude on Friday, September 1.

Prospective students may apply online or request hardcopy applications for submission.

To maintain program integrity and effectiveness the College limits the number of students accepted each summer. Students are urged to submit their applications and deposits as soon as they are able to confirm dates and travel plans.

There will be up to 14 classes running simultaneously each week. That means students from the absolute beginner to the Spanish teacher may enroll. There will be a class for everyone. Class size is limited to five students per instructor.

The student body at the College is typically comprised of US and Canadian professionals wanting to develop into effective Spanish speakers. The summer session is the perfect time for educators to enroll. The College sees a significant increase in teachers and administrators during the summer months. The number of university students also rises.

In addition, teen and family programs are offered during the summer session. Families with children interested in a Spanish immersion experience may apply for summer enrollment. Placement is strictly limited. College President Keith Rolle explains, “We are thrilled to have youngsters and their parents enroll during the summer months. However, we only accept applications on an individual basis. There are some kids that might not be a good fit for this program. It is not a camp where parents can leave their kids for a week or two. We strongly encourage parents to be involved as well. “

The Mexican Cooking Workshops will be featured every Saturday in June, July and August. This is a great opportunity to create Mexican delicacies under the supervision and guidance of a professional Mexican chef. Everyone is welcome to enroll in the workshops. Participants do not have to be students at the College.

Remember, summers in Ensenada are spectacularly mild. The average high temperature in Ensenada during the summer is 78 degrees Fahrenheit with very low humidity, cool Pacific breezes and always lots of bright Baja sunshine.
